PFLAG Salisbury Rowan
Founded in 1973, PFLAG is the nation's largest organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them.
PFLAG Salisbury Rowan was formed by Mike Clawson in 2006. Our Scholarship Foundation was started in 2008 and as of 2025, we have given over $115,000 to deserving Rowan County high school seniors, public, private, and home-schooled who identify as LGBTQ or as an ally.

Our Mission
To create a caring, just, and affirming world for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them.

The 2025 Salisbury Pride Festival theme was “Community.” The festival was June 28, 2025 and we were there again this year in lieu of our monthly support meeting. We had popsicles, candy, stickers, pins and shirts! Of course, we were there with information about PFLAG and support for our community. Thank you to the Salisbury Pride Festival committee for organizing this event every year for our community. A special thank you to Dee, Greg, Jill, Donna, Mike, Wade, Wendy and Angel! You made the PFLAG Salisbury/Rowan booth a success and supporting our LGBTQIA+ community is the most important part of our mission.
